Humanities College is a comprehensive liberal arts college, involving three first-class disciplines: education, China language and literature, and art. It has six departments, three centers, two research institutes and one base, including Chinese Department, Education Department, Educational Technology Department, Film and Television Communication Department, Music Department, Dance Department, Teaching Experiment Practice Center, Primary and Secondary School Principal Teacher Training Center, Language and Teacher Skills Training and Testing Center, Tian Jiabing Education Science Research Institute and Jiangnan Humanities and Art Research Institute. It has formed a talent training base integrating education, literature and art.

The college has initially formed an education system with postgraduate education as the leader and undergraduate education as the main body. Postgraduate education includes three master's programs: China ancient literature, comparative literature and world literature, and principles of pedagogy. There are six undergraduate majors: Chinese language and literature, pedagogy (normal), educational technology (normal), drama, film and television literature, musicology (normal) and dance choreography. The hospital has nearly 2000 graduate students and undergraduates.

The college has a strong faculty and strong scientific and technological innovation ability. He has won 3 national social science fund projects, more than 40 national, provincial and ministerial projects, more than 300 high-level papers, more than 50 works and 3 provincial teaching achievement awards. Qiang Hongshan, directed by the dance major, won the "Wenhua Award" issued by the Ministry of Culture. The humanistic series feature film "Talking about Wu" written by the teacher majoring in drama, film and television literature won the Top Ten Documentary Awards in the 6th China Documentary International Film Selection Conference. The college has a strong faculty, with full-time teachers 105, including professors 18 and associate professors 32. Among full-time teachers, the proportion of teachers with senior titles is 48%, which basically forms an academic team with high academic attainments and teaching level, headed by academic leaders.
