2.C9 Alliance (C9 for short) is the first university alliance among top universities in China, which was launched in June 2009. Alliance members are the first batch of first-class universities under the key construction of the "985 Project".

As an academic alliance of colleges and universities, the Nine Schools Alliance aims to strengthen cooperation and exchanges in the fields of personnel training and scientific research, with complementary advantages. At present, nine university consortia have maintained good cooperative relations with other well-known national university consortia, such as Russell University Group in Britain, Academic Research Forum in Japan (RU 1 1), German University Consortium U 15, Canadian Research University Consortium U 15, and Eight Universities Consortium in Australia. After the establishment of the alliance, many substantive activities were carried out, such as student exchange, seminars, summer camps, etc.
