At the same time, the institute undertakes scientific research tasks such as diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, prevention and treatment of bacterial resistance, and research on the mechanism of bacterial resistance. It is the undertaker of the Sixth Five-year Plan, Seventh Five-year Plan, Eighth Five-year Plan, Tenth Five-year Plan and 863 Project of the Ministry of Science and Technology (formerly the State Science and Technology Commission), and has all completed the acceptance. The national clinical trial research center of new anti-infective drugs, a key project of the Ministry of Science and Technology, was formally established in 2000 after passing the acceptance test. Over the years, it has obtained many projects 10 supported by the National Natural Science Foundation. In 2005, he was awarded the 973 project of National Key Basic Research and Development Plan "Basic Research on Drug Resistance Mechanism of Pathogens of Important Infectious Diseases". Professor Wang Minggui, deputy director of the Institute, is the team leader and chief scientist. He has won more than 20 national and ministerial achievement awards in the rational application of antibacterial drugs, clinical research of new antibacterial drugs and prevention and treatment of bacterial resistance. Since 1980s, dozens of new anti-infective drugs have been systematically evaluated clinically and experimentally at home and abroad. At present, it is the national clinical research base of anti-infective drugs.
The Institute undertook the teaching task of infectious diseases, offered specialized courses for graduate students, taught undergraduate students in medical schools, and trained more than 50 doctors and masters. The institute also undertakes the training of "drug clinical research". In 2005, it was established as one of the six training centers of the State Administration of Pharmaceutical Products (now the GCP Training Center of Fudan University School of Medicine), and trained 200-500 clinicians from all over the country every year for the training of Good Practice in Drug Clinical Research (GCP).
Over the years, the Institute has conducted extensive academic exchanges with colleagues at home and abroad in the field of diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases, and established an interdisciplinary infection chemotherapy society 65438-0985 in Shanghai. Starting from 1995, a national academic conference on infectious diseases and antimicrobial chemotherapy will be held every two years; The Journal of Anti-infective Chemotherapy approved by 1995 in September, 2000 was published at home and abroad, that is, China Journal of Anti-infective Chemotherapy, which provided a broad world for clinical medical workers to carry out academic exchanges and promoted the diagnosis and treatment of infectious diseases and the continuous improvement of the level of antimicrobial chemotherapy in China.
