Sanzao Town is located in Jinwan District, west of Zhuhai. It is the location of Zhuhai Airport, China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition, Zhuhai Campus of Zunyi Medical College and Zhuhai College of Jilin University. It is also the seat of Zhuhai Aviation Industrial Park and the hometown of Mr. Lin Weimin, the leader of the early workers' movement in China. The origin of the name of Sanzao:

Sanzao Town, located in the southwest of Zhuhai, between Modaomen and Jiti Gate, is the largest island in Wanshan Archipelago. There are different opinions about the origin of the name of Sanzao since ancient times. Some people say it is named after three small natural stoves on the island. Some people say that there used to be three beacon towers on the island, and the fishermen nearby regarded the beacon towers as three big stoves, hence the name Sanzao, but the former statement is more popular in Sanzao area today.

An old man in Sanzao Town said that in ancient times, Sanzao Island was just an isolated island on the ancient Lingdingyang, and the island was deserted. Fishermen who go fishing often stay on the island, or get water to quench their thirst, or cook on the stove. Over time, fishermen found a concave stone one meter square near the island shore. Due to the long-term seawater erosion, three notches were formed on the concave stone, just like three small stoves, next to each other. A few years later, fishermen heard the news and moved to the island one after another, and Sanzao Island became more and more lively every day. Because Sanzao Island was still an unknown island at that time, these craftsmen went back to describe where they went, saying it was a place with three small stoves. Over time, people habitually call this island Sanzao. The name of the three stoves came from this.

When will someone come to settle down?

According to historical records, as early as the Southern Song Dynasty, ancestors settled in Sanzao Island. From about 1.480 to 1.500 (Ming Chenghua and Hongzhi years), people from Doumen, Xinhui and Zhongshan fled everywhere and came to Sanzao Island. These people who were slandered as "traitors", "exiles" and "fugitives" opened Sanzao Island with their wisdom and labor.
