The predecessor of the school is Dalian Management Cadre College, which was established in 1979. 1999, restructured into Dalian Vocational and Technical College. 200 1 Dalian Polytechnic School and Dalian Normal School merged. In 2007, it became a national model higher vocational college. 20 19 became a national high-quality vocational college.
The school consists of four affiliated technical secondary schools: Dalian Electronic School, Dalian Architectural School, Dalian Ocean School and Dalian Agricultural School. The school has 12 colleges and 1 teaching department, including Mechanical Engineering College, Electrical and Electronic Engineering College and Automobile Engineering College, and offers 39 majors in 9 categories, including equipment manufacturing, civil construction, biochemistry, finance and trade, electronic information, education and sports, transportation, tourism, public management and service.
