How should college students read?
Different people have different reading methods and different reading purposes have different reading skills. Generally speaking, reading has the following noteworthy points.

First of all, intensive reading is combined with extensive reading. There is a saying in The Analects of Confucius and the Rural Party: "You are not tired of fine food, and you are not tired of fine food." There is a saying in Chen Shou's biography of the Three Kingdoms Shu Wei Dong Yuchuan: "Read it a hundred times and see for yourself." Su Shi said in "Send a scholar who doesn't understand to the West": "Therefore, I never tire of reading, and I am familiar with it and think about it." Huang Tingjian said: "A large number of scholars are eager to learn, but they are often ill and not refined; If there are hundreds of books, one of them is not good. " Mr. Zhu Guangqian, a famous aesthetician and literary theorist in China, once pointed out brilliantly when talking about reading: "There are not many books, and the most important thing is to choose carefully and read thoroughly. Instead of reading ten unimportant books, it is better to read a book worth reading with the time and energy of reading ten books; It is better to read one book intensively for ten times than to read ten books only once. "

Second, the combination of useful and useless. Some students often feel that what they have learned is useless when studying, and only learn what they think is useful. In fact, this is a short-sighted behavior in learning and a misunderstanding in the process of becoming a talent. As the saying goes: know more users, hate less. There is a wonderful exposition on the dialectical relationship between usefulness and uselessness in Zhuangzi Waipian: "Zhuangzi said: Only when you know its uselessness can you use it. Heaven and earth are not vast, and people can use them for their ears. However, the toilet is full and the mat is dead. Are people still useful? Keiko Dai: "It's useless." Zhuang Ziri:' But it is obviously useless.' "This story shows that some seemingly useless knowledge is actually very useful and is the cornerstone of building the whole temple of knowledge. Therefore, it is necessary to establish a correct view of knowledge and reading, take the "uselessness" as the basis and backing, make preparations for long-term accumulation and constant knowledge, and avoid impatient mentality and short-sighted behavior of quick success and instant benefit.

Third, reading and thinking should be combined. To learn, you must learn, you must be able to understand, just like eating, you must be able to change. Reading more without using it or using it badly is almost equal to reading for nothing, and it is easy to become what we often call a nerd. When Qian Cheng prefaced Tong Ya by Fang Yizhi, a scholar in the Qing Dynasty, he quoted a sentence from Fang: "Learning can't understand the connection between ancient and modern, and it's not suspicious. Why is it so expensive? ... if you don't learn, the wisdom of your predecessors is not mine; Learn to trace and draw ink, without losing size, then recite the words of the dead. " In other words, learning and thinking must be combined, and we can't neglect them. If you don't learn, you will become a fantasy; Learning without thinking will turn you into a bookworm. Therefore, Confucius said, "Learning without thinking is useless, and thinking without learning is dangerous." Learning should be like what the ancients said, studious and thoughtful. In fact, the difference between Chinese studies and Song studies lies in memorizing chapters and sentences and using them flexibly, so their achievements are different.

Finally, integrate theory with practice. We should not only learn from books, but also be good at observing, feeling, expressing and reflecting on life. Combine reading with writing, improve your reading ability and writing ability, and achieve the purpose of exercising writing style, enriching thoughts and tempering wisdom. Wang Guowei said in "Words on Earth": "Poets must be inside and outside the universe. Enter it so that you can write; Outside it, we can see it. Into it, so there is life. Beyond it, it is high. " Combine the book income, integrate absorption and digestion, and create your own experience and research results.

We often say that we can only understand, but not express. It can be seen that it is not easy to know things, but it is even more difficult to accurately state and express your feelings and understanding. Therefore, what you feel in your heart may not be expressed in your mouth or described clearly in your pen. Only in this way should we consciously exercise ourselves and never let go of all opportunities for exercise and improvement. As a contemporary college student, we should form the habit of reading, reading and living well, and grow, mature and become talented in reading, writing and reading.
