Ningxia University (hereinafter referred to as Ningda) is a university jointly established by the Ministry of Education of China and the People's Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. Historical evolution:
1962 In September, Ningxia University was formally established through the merger of the three hospitals. In the same year, Yinchuan Xincheng Middle School was merged into Ningxia University.
65438-0969, the former Ningxia Agricultural College of Ningxia University participated in the merger and formation of Ningxia University (the first branch).
65438-0972 The former Ningxia Medical College of Ningxia University partially participated in the merger and establishment of Ningxia Medical College.
1978 department of mechanical engineering and Department of Electronic Engineering of Ningxia University were transformed into Ningxia Institute of Technology and cooperated with Ningxia University in running schools. The school officially became a postgraduate training unit.

In 2003, Ningxia Sports School and Ningxia University jointly run a school and established the Sports Branch of Higher Vocational and Technical College of Ningxia University. Grassland science, schools, doctoral degree authorization, began to recruit doctoral students.
In 2004, Ningxia University became a university jointly established by the People's Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region and the Ministry of Education.
