July 2023. According to official website of Guangdong Education Examinations Institute, in July, 2023, the second plenary session of the seventh session of Guangdong Higher Education Establishment Review Committee passed the application for renaming Zhong Kai Agricultural Engineering University as Zhong Kai Agricultural Engineering University, and decided to publicize the announcement of Zhong Kai's renaming. Zhong Kai Agricultural Engineering University has made clear the goal and orientation of building a high-level agricultural application-oriented university serving the rural revitalization in Guangdong, striving to basically complete the second phase of Baiyun Campus in five years, renaming it as IT University, and being authorized as a project construction unit by a doctoral degree.
