(1) The Dadongguan Campus of Shanxi University was originally Taiyuan Electric Power Institute, founded in 1955, and became engineering college of shanxi university in 2000. On June 20 14, it was merged into Shanxi University to make up for the shortage of engineering and improve the comprehensive strength of Shanxi University.

(2) The general campus of Shanxi University is Wucheng Campus. The school, formerly known as Shanxi University Hall, was founded by timothy richard, an Englishman, and Cen Chunxuan, then governor of Shanxi Province, on May 8th, 28th, Guangxu, Qing Dynasty. In the first year of the Republic of China, it was renamed Shanxi University, and 19 18 was confirmed as the National Shanxi University, which was one of the first three national universities established in China.

193 1 changed its name to Shanxi University. 1953, the national colleges and universities were renamed Shanxi Normal University after adjustment. The name of Shanxi University was restored from 65438 to 0959, which is one of the earliest universities registered in the United Nations in China.

2. Different geographical environments:

(1) The Dadongguan Campus of Shanxi University (Wucheng Campus of Shanxi University) is located at No.92 Wucheng Road, xiaodian district, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, with an area of 1200 mu and a construction area of nearly1000,000 square meters. The school is divided into the northern part of traditional architecture and the southern part of modern architecture. It was named as "Garden Unit", "Green School" and "Forestry Ecological School" by Shanxi Provincial Government.

(2) The Dadongguan Campus of Shanxi University (formerly Taiyuan Electric Power College and Engineering College of Shanxi University, merged into Shanxi University in June 20 14) is located at No.36 Honggou South Street, yingze district, Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province, covering an area of 243 mu, with a construction area of180,000 square meters.

3. Different enrollment majors:

(1) Because the Dadongguan Campus of Shanxi University is the main campus, most majors enroll students in this campus.

(2) The Dadongguan Campus of Shanxi University was formerly Taiyuan University of Electric Power, so most of the enrollment majors are science and engineering.

Taiyuan University of Electric Power is a public full-time provincial institution of higher learning, founded in 1955. Starting from 1978, students at junior college level will be recruited through the college entrance examination. From 198 1 to 199 1, it was transformed into the electric power branch of Taiyuan University of Technology (now Taiyuan University of Technology) and held 1 1 year undergraduate education. 1997 was identified by the former State Education Commission as a national key construction school of a model higher engineering college.

In 2000, the management system of Taiyuan Electric Power Institute was managed by the former Ministry of Electric Power, put under the management of Shanxi Provincial People's Government, and jointly established by the central and local governments. With the approval of Shanxi Provincial People's Government, engineering college of shanxi university was established in cooperation with Shanxi University. 20 14 merged into Shanxi University and became the Dadongguan Campus of Shanxi University. Taiyuan Electric Power Institute was transformed into an undergraduate department of Shanxi University.
