Zhang (1913.7 ~ 201.11), a native of China, is known as the founder of development economics.

Zhang 1934 graduated from the Department of Economics of National Wuhan University, and 1945 received a doctorate in economics from Harvard University. After returning to China, he has served as professor and dean of the Economics Department of Wuhan University, consultant and researcher of the United Nations Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East, member of the Preparatory Committee of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, director of the Infrastructure Office, and director and professor of the Social Science Department of Huazhong University of Science and Technology.

Zhang is recognized as the founder of development economics in the world, and graduated from the Economics Department of Wuhan University. 194 1 In April, Zhang He was admitted to Tsinghua University as the fifth overseas student at public expense, becoming the first person admitted by Tsinghua Geng to study in the United States at public expense.
