I like calligraphy and painting since I was a child. After joining the army, although I was busy with military and political training, this hobby never stopped. My superficial feelings and experiences in learning calligraphy are as follows:

First, kiss.

Being able to write does not mean mastering the art of calligraphy. Only by mastering the techniques and knowledge of calligraphy skillfully can the artistic creation of calligraphy be improved from the general practical writing to the appreciation level.

The first problem encountered in learning calligraphy is "what to learn and how to learn"? In practice, I realize that learning calligraphy begins with copying calligraphy. It should be posted by the ancients, worshipped by the ancients as teachers, and posted by the present. But it should mainly be ancient posts and famous posts. This is what people often say, "Take the ancient vertically and take the present horizontally." In his letter to calligraphy lovers, Master Qi Gong said, "He who takes the method gets the middle, and he who takes the method gets it." I don't know who it is, because he is right and has to listen to him. This is not my modesty, because it will be better if we learn from some ancient masters. What people look like now is the easiest, but once they grow up, they can never get rid of it, and it's too late to regret it later. I often teach some young people who are just beginning to learn, and I am eager to let him have my words. Once I become a little "strong", I will stop immediately. He added: "Writing posts mainly focuses on structure. The structure is correct. Even if all the gestures are deleted, people will say that they are like a family, like a post. "Mr. Qi Gong made it clear that we are facing the ancient and the present.

There is also a problem of "entering the post" and "posting" on the job. "Fang Shan's Poems" said: "If you don't learn from the ancients, you can't; Where is the struggle like the ancients? " It should be said that Lin Tie is only the premise and method of learning calligraphy, and is the "bridge" and "boat" across the river. Once you cross the river, you should go your own way and not always stay on the "bridge" and "boat". A post is like a post, that is, "in the post." How can you "publish"? Personally, I realize that on the basis of "joint post", I choose several famous posts for temporary study, learn from their strengths, abandon their shortcomings and use them for me. Through continuous practice and exploration, it gradually forms its own characteristics and style. This is "posting".

Second, take diligence as the path.

There are "bitterness" and "pleasure" in learning calligraphy, which means seeking pleasure in suffering. In the Qing Dynasty, there was a poem "There is a way to learn in the mountains, and the sea is boundless", which vividly and profoundly revealed the truth of diligent study and hard practice. Mr. Feng Guoyu, a calligrapher, famously said, "Why did you come to the world without mercy? If life is good, you will be tired. " This profoundly reveals the calligrapher's broad mind and tireless pursuit spirit. He said: I practiced calligraphy and went through the five steps of purgatory. Yue Long Tianmen, where the tiger lies in the phoenix que and the sword is in the forest, you can walk freely, all of which put the sense of existence first. Post a famous teacher, don't admire the false reputation, concentrate on thousands of troops. This is a ... I am eager to pursue it with my hands. I don't want to find another way and create a new style. Here are two. Accept, learn and tolerate, heaven and earth are teachers, and everyone is a teacher. This is three. Knowledge, character and cultivation go hand in hand. This is four. Understanding is the fifth. What is understanding? "Understanding is the first, I said understanding is to forget the machine. A flurry in Zhang Changshi, the fallen petal flying snow monk wearing cloth, got the bone and marrow inherited the previous training, and the ancient style is not vulgar. Epiphany is born of diligence, and the chest is full of pens. " It can be seen that without diligent study and hard practice, thorough research and serious experience, it is impossible to achieve anything in calligraphy art. However, it is not enough to "work hard". There is also a question of learning and practicing methods and skills. Ouyang Zhongshi, a famous calligrapher, said: Chinese characters are not good at practicing, but good at learning. Learning is taking, and taking is learning. Think of yourself as a "writer". The ancients Rainbow, Xi Zhi and Yan Zhenqing wrote it best. You can't write well unless you honestly learn from the sages and insist on taking treasure from the traditional treasure house. He also said: horses are not fat without night grass, and people are not rich without external wealth. As far as learning calligraphy is concerned, "foreign money" means learning from outsiders, learning the advantages of outsiders, and absorbing or even "grabbing" all the good things from outsiders. You can't enrich and cultivate yourself without learning from outsiders. Among the "sending foreign money", the traditional treasure house has the richest foreign money. This treasure house is open to everyone, depending on whether you take it, take one or more pieces, and take it once or often. People can't be rich without taking other people's treasures! From this point of view, only by combining people's talents with the spirit of being studious and eager to learn, can we be talented without dabbling, devote ourselves wholeheartedly, forget all about eating and sleeping, persevere in "retiring from writing" and be knowledgeable, so that we can be smart, handy, rigid and flexible in calligraphy art and create good works with our own characteristics and styles.

Third, based on emotion.

The love and hobby of calligraphy art is the premise and foundation of learning calligraphy well. For a good calligraphy tablet, a good calligraphy work, we are often tired of reading and practicing, and we can't put it down. We will gain something after watching it once, and we will improve after practicing it once. This is feelings, and this is the charm of art. Without this hobby and feelings, you can't learn calligraphy well.

Calligraphy is the art of expressing emotions. We should not only pour people's emotions into learning and appreciating the art of calligraphy, but also show people's strong emotions in calligraphy creation. Yi said in Hanlin Yaoze: "There are different emotions. I like to use harmonious words, angry words are vulgar, sad words are depressed, and I like to use words smoothly. If the feelings are serious, the words are shallow and changeable. " It can be seen that emotional factors are very important in calligraphy art.

Books are paintings of the heart, and the environment is created by the heart. Calligrapher Gongda Yan said: "Skill and emotion are compatible, and calligraphy pays attention to skill and emotion. Many old comrades have a good foundation, but their feelings are not good, and their writing is dead and rigid. Skills are technical, and feelings are spiritual. These are two different levels. " This is what people often say: calligraphy creation should be carried out with a calm mind and a peaceful mind. This requires both hard work and mastery of rules and regulations; Also want to see the situation, flock to it, and be generous. The so-called heart and hands are smooth, and work and feelings are satisfactory. Make what you think, feel, believe and do with your pen lifelike, and complete the vivid process of showing your talent, temperament, personality and aesthetic feeling.

Fourth, take beauty as the wind.

In the practice of learning calligraphy, we often come across some calligraphy works, which are beautifully written and vivid, making people feel beautiful and comfortable, and even some words are unrecognizable, which makes everyone feel good. Some works are too quaint to read. There are sometimes differences or even completely different views on the appreciation and evaluation of a calligraphy work. This is the difference in personal hobbies, level and aesthetic angle of the appreciator.

To learn calligraphy, we should constantly improve our level and ability to appreciate and evaluate calligraphy works. Marx said in 1944 Economic and Philosophical Manuscripts: "If you want to enjoy art, you must be an artistic person." Ye Hengshan, a Qing Dynasty man, said, "A great mortal cannot think without talent, shrink without courage, choose without knowledge, and be powerless without home." Because everyone's hobbies and aesthetics are different, they must have their own different views, requirements and pursuits. Thus formed their own different artistic styles. In a sense, it has formed a personal artistic style, which is to surpass others and be unique. This is valuable. However, it would be terrible to get stuck here and think that the style has been determined and the practice is over. Calligraphy art is endless, and learning calligraphy art is a long-term pursuit and unremitting struggle. Only by devoting all one's body and mind to the art of calligraphy and constantly surpassing others and oneself, can one calmly enter this hall of human calligraphy art.
