In recent years, the college has made remarkable achievements in discipline construction. "Pathology and Pathophysiology" in our hospital was rated as "Key Discipline in Hubei Province"; "Pathology and Pathophysiology" and "Biochemistry and Molecular Biology" were approved by Hubei Academic Degree Office as "Hubei Master's Degree Program Construction Discipline"; Pathology and pathophysiology, biochemistry and molecular biology, and surgery were rated as "key disciplines of Jianghan University". Driven by these key disciplines, other disciplines in the college have made great progress and development in discipline construction.

On May 18, Wuhan Biomedical Research Institute of Jianghan University was formally established. It is the first drug rehabilitation research institute in Hubei Province, headed by Professor Jin, an academician of China Academy of Sciences. This is the first time that Jianghan University has introduced academicians. Professor Li Chaoying, a famous Chinese-American scientist, is the executive vice president. At present, Wuhan Institute of Biomedicine of Jianghan University is carrying out the research on drug relapse prevention with a brand-new idea, and has made initial progress, and will enter the clinical trial stage in the near future.
