Wu, female, Han nationality,1born in August 1947, Zhejiang. 1970 graduated from Tsinghua University majoring in communication technology, 198 1 obtained a master's degree in automatic control in Tsinghua University, and 1986 obtained a doctorate in electronic engineering from Zurich Institute of Technology. He has served as deputy director of the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tongji University, director of CIMS Center, assistant to the president, vice-president and principal, representative of the 15th National Congress of CPC, member of the 7th Shanghai Municipal Committee, representative of the 16th National Congress of CPC, alternate member of the 16th Central Committee and member of the 8th Shanghai Municipal Committee. From 2003 to 2008, he served as Vice Minister of Education, Vice Chairman and Secretary General of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee. From 2003 to 2008, he served as vice chairman of the All-China Women's Federation. Now he is a member of the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC), a member of the Education, Science, Culture and Health Committee, a professor of Tongji University and a doctoral supervisor. He is also the chairman of Shanghai System Simulation Society, the special adviser of the 9th Council of China Automation Society, the director of Shanghai Informatization Expert Committee, the president of Shanghai European and American Alumni Association and Shanghai Overseas Students Federation, the director of Tsinghua University Engineering Education Research Center, and a senior member of IEEE.
