At present, there are doctoral programs in architectural design and theory and first-class master programs in architecture (including four master programs in architectural design and theory, architectural technology science, architectural history and theory, and urban planning and design), and architectural design and theory is the key construction discipline in the Eleventh Five-Year Plan. The college has four undergraduate majors: architecture, urban planning, art design (environmental art) and landscape (architecture, urban planning and landscape are all five-year programs).

The college has more than 70 faculty members, including 65 professional teachers; Among the full-time teachers, there are 3 doctoral supervisors, 7 professors and 24 associate professors; External professors 10, including academicians 1 0, 2 foreign professors and foreign researchers 1 0.

The School of Architecture absorbs the essence of Huxiang culture and draws lessons from the advanced experience of architectural colleges at home and abroad, and has formed the teaching characteristics of attaching importance to basic training, practical ability training and design practice, with fruitful design creation and theoretical research results. The college has also made new pioneering achievements in the fields of architecture and culture, comparative study of Chinese and Japanese dwellings, traditional architecture in Hunan, community environmental planning and management research, and strengthened and enriched the professional subject characteristics.
