Northeast Li Dian University, TEPCO for short, located in Jilin City, Jilin Province, is a key university in Jilin Province. It has been selected as one of the first batch of key universities in "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" and "Basic Capacity Building Project of Central and Western Universities" of the Ministry of Education.

The school is one of the first construction units of the National Engineering Practice Education Center, a scholarship receiving institution of China government for overseas students, a national continuing education base for professional and technical personnel, a national cultural quality education base for college students, and a national social sports talent training and scientific research base.

Founded in 1949, the school is the first electric power engineering school established in New China. 1958 was named Jilin electric power institute, and 1978 was renamed northeast china institute of electric power. Since 2000, the management mode of "combining the central and local governments and focusing on local management" has been implemented. In 2005, the school was renamed Northeast Li Dian University.

As of July, 20 19, the school has 14 colleges, 3 first-class disciplines authorized by doctor's degree, 14 first-class disciplines authorized by master's degree, 9 categories authorized by master's degree and 50 undergraduate majors.
