Located in Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province, it is a provincial-level high-level university with key construction in Heilongjiang Province. It is the supporting university of the "Basic Capacity Building Project of 100 Central and Western Universities in China (Phase II)" during the "Thirteenth Five-Year Plan" period, and the leading unit of the medical education research group of comprehensive universities of the Medical Education Professional Committee of the Higher Education Society.
The institutions entrusted by the Scholarship Program of China Municipal Government for Overseas Students were selected as the pilot universities for excellent doctoral education and training programs and the universities supported by the basic capacity-building projects of universities in the central and western regions. He is a member of China East-West Curriculum Alliance, National UOOC Alliance and Sino-Russian Medical University Alliance, and is a training base for studying in Russia by the Ministry of Education. There is a training base for rehabilitation medicine talents of the National Health Planning Commission and a training center for general practice in Heilongjiang Province.
The school was founded in 1947 and approved by the former State Education Commission 1995. It is formed by the merger of Jiamusi Medical College, Jiamusi Institute of Technology, Jiamusi Teachers College and the former Jiamusi University (municipal). After 2000, Jiamusi Grain Workers Secondary Professional School, Fujin Normal School and Heilongjiang Industrial School merged one after another.
As of March 2022, the school has four campuses, covering an area of 13 1000 square meters, with a construction area of 620,000 square meters. The total fixed assets are171500 million yuan, including 384 million yuan of teaching and research instruments and equipment assets. There are 25 colleges (departments) and 82 undergraduate majors.
There are 2 first-level disciplines authorized by doctoral degrees, 15 first-level disciplines authorized by master's degrees, 1 master's degrees authorized by two disciplines, 12 master's degree authorization points, 2 post-doctoral research mobile stations and 3 post-doctoral research mobile stations. There are more than 3,800 faculty members (including 3 affiliated hospitals), nearly 25,000 full-time undergraduates and more than 2,500 doctoral and master students. There are more than 30 international students/kloc-0, and more than 20,000 continuing education students.
