Ms. Shao, born in 1954, is an American citizen. She graduated from National Chengchi University in Taiwan Province Province and University of Iowa in the United States with bachelor's and master's degrees.

Since March 2007, she has been the chief actuary of China Life Insurance Co., Ltd., and Ms. Shao used to be the senior vice president of Prudential Financial Group and the chief actuaries of several subsidiaries. She has many years of working experience in insurance companies and has served as the chairman and senior manager of several actuaries' associations. She has many professional qualifications, such as CFA, CERA, CEBS, CHFC, CLU, MAAA and FSA. He is currently a member of the Greater China Committee of the Association of Actuaries of North America.
