The University of Sussex ranked 47th in The Times' comprehensive ranking of British universities in 2022. Sussex University, a medium-sized public comprehensive university, was one of the earliest schools established by the wave of new universities in Britain in 1960s. It was established as a university by royal charter in August of 196 1. There are three Nobel Prize winners in this school. Compared with the comprehensive strength of the school, it is still strong, equivalent to 985 colleges and universities in China.
