Article 1 Students who do have expertise and can give full play to their expertise after changing majors may be allowed to change majors. Students who change majors must meet the following basic conditions:
(1) Undergraduate students in Grade One or Grade Two are not oriented.
(2) Good political performance, qualified ideological and moral conduct, law-abiding, diligent and dedicated, self-motivated and healthy.
(3) There was no violation of law and discipline during the school period, and no disciplinary action was taken.
(4) There is no failure in the examinations of the courses studied, and the average GPA of compulsory courses and elective courses is above 2.0.
(5) Never changed my major.
Article 2 Acceptance time: The work of changing majors is arranged in the second semester of each academic year.
Article 3 Acceptance procedures:
(1) In the first ten days of April, all departments filled in the Detailed List of Students Accepting to Change Majors issued by the Academic Affairs Office. At the same time, all departments should formulate their own assessment methods and procedures for students applying for transfer according to the actual situation, and report them to the Academic Affairs Department together with the curriculum.
(2) In mid-April, the Academic Affairs Office made a preliminary summary of the number of places in each department's major transfer plan, submitted it to the competent dean for approval, and announced the number of places in each major plan and the audit procedures to all students.
Each department should arrange time for the teacher in charge of this work to answer the students' inquiries, and get the Application Form for Students to Change Major from Southern College of Sun Yat-sen University from the Academic Affairs Office.
(3) In the first ten days of May, students who apply to change their major will go to the office of their department to receive the Application Form for Students to Change their Major from Southern College of Sun Yat-sen University, fill it out according to the form and send it back to the academic staff of their department. If it fails, it will no longer be accepted.
(4) Before May 20th, all departments shall review all the materials applied for changing majors, and send the examination and approval results to the departments where students apply for changing majors.
(5) Before the end of May, all departments shall conduct a comprehensive review of students applying for transfer in accordance with the published Detailed Rules for Transfer, and fill in the list of students admitted and the review results in the Summary of Qualification Review of Transfer Students issued by the Academic Affairs Department and report it to the Academic Affairs Department. All departments that need to interview students should arrange the interview time and place in advance.
(6) In mid-June, the Academic Affairs Office reviewed and summarized the qualifications of students majoring in transfer and reported them to the dean in charge of teaching for approval. And announce the preliminary selection list of transfer students to the whole school.
(7) Within one week after the end of the semester final exam, after each department has reviewed the students' conduct and credit scores in accordance with the first requirement, students who do not meet the requirements for changing majors will be reported to the Academic Affairs Department. The official list of transfer students will be announced after being reviewed by the Academic Affairs Office. After receiving the list, the academic staff of each department should make preparations for the transfer or reception of student enrollment materials.
(8) In the first week of the first semester of the new school year, all departments shall uniformly handle the student status, student ID card and registration of newly transferred students until the educational administration department.
(9) Changing departments and majors shall be arranged according to the above procedures. Outside the specified time, the procedures for transferring from department to major will not be handled.
Article 4 Students from the same department and subject who change their majors shall be examined and approved by the department and reported to the Academic Affairs Office and relevant departments for the record; Other transfer students are admitted according to the procedures stipulated in Article 3 of Chapter 1.
Article 5 The number of transfer students in this major shall be controlled as follows in principle:
(1) majors with less than 200 people should be controlled within 15%;
(2) Majors with more than 200 people should be controlled within 20%.
Article 6 Students who change majors can apply for the original major as the second major, and the application conditions, time, acceptance procedures and student status management shall be implemented in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Measures for the Administration of Student Status of Southern College of Sun Yat-sen University.
Article 7 Students who apply for changing their major must take the final course examination of the original major. Those who fail the exam without reason shall be dealt with according to the relevant provisions on the management of student status and their professional qualifications shall be cancelled at the same time.
Article 8 If the credits obtained by students after changing majors meet the requirements of the teaching plan for changing majors, they shall be recognized after being confirmed by the teachers concerned. Those who do not meet the requirements can be used as elective credits.
Article 9 Changing majors under the following circumstances is a special case and is not subject to the above conditions:
(1) Students who are found to have a certain disease or physical defect after entering school and can study in other majors after being certified by the medical unit designated by the school.
(2) with the approval of the school, students have special difficulties and cannot continue their studies without changing their major. If the above-mentioned students change their majors, the students themselves will apply and their departments will make suggestions. After being examined by the Academic Affairs Office and approved by the dean in charge, they can be arranged to study in a major suitable for their continued study.
