Why did Chang 'an University change its name?
Chang 'an University was renamed because it is located in Xi 'an, the ancient capital, and it is said that this university was merged. In order to take care of the feelings of all parties, I also hope that the school can be built into a research-oriented comprehensive university in the future.

The original name of Chang 'an University is Xi 'an Highway Jiaotong University, and the most powerful major in the school is highway transportation. 1958, in order to support the development of the school, the state transferred some teachers and equipment from Beijing Highway College to the school, and combined with the foundation of the original school, Xi 'an Highway College was established, with the aim of cultivating highway transportation talents.

At that time, the school quickly developed into the first university in Asia to train professional road traffic talents. From 1955, the school was renamed Xi 'an Automobile Machinery School of the Ministry of Communications.
