Zeng Mian (1901-1988), whose real name is Mian, was born in Ruian Chengguan. 1925 Graduated from Horticulture Department of Southeast University. 1928 ——1943 studied at the university of Montpellier, France, and obtained a doctorate. After returning to China, he successively served as a professor at Central University, Yunnan University, Nanjing University and Shandong University, and as a researcher at East China Institute of Agricultural Sciences of China Academy of Sciences and Nanjing Institute of Botany. 1956 was invited to give lectures in Poland. 65438-0958 served as the head of the fruit tree investigation team in the ancient Yellow River Road area of the Ministry of Agriculture. After 1960, he was responsible for the establishment of Citrus Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences in Jiangjin, Sichuan. He served as director and honorary director successively, and founded and edited Horticultural Monthly, China Horticulture (English version) and Horticultural News.
