The vocabulary requirement of band 6 is 5500 words;
The words required by CET-6 are based on CET-4 words 1500 words.
Band 4 requires a vocabulary of 8000 words;
CET-8 requires 13000 words.
Vocabulary will not only affect the speed of reading and writing, but also affect the effect of listening. Terral, a linguist, believes that as long as enough words are mastered, foreign language learners can better understand and express themselves in foreign languages even if they don't have much grammar knowledge. American linguist Diller's research also shows that if we know 25 words, on average, we know 23% words per page; If we know 135 words, the percentage will reach 50%; 2500 words is equivalent to 78%; 5000 words corresponds to 86%; 10000 is equivalent to 92%. Moreover, the linguist Wilkins has a classic saying: "Without grammar, only a little information can be conveyed, and without vocabulary, nothing can be conveyed." Therefore, the greater the number of words, the more parts students can understand in reading comprehension, the greater the correct rate, the faster the writing speed and the better the listening effect. For CET-4 and CET-6, the vocabulary required by the syllabus is above 4,200 and 5,500 respectively, so everyone must be prepared before going to the examination room to ensure that they have enough words.
