Stockholm University is located in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, which is known as Venice in Northern Europe. It is one of the largest comprehensive universities in Sweden and the center of higher education and scientific research in Sweden. In 2004, it ranked 38th among universities in the world and 86th among academic ranking of world universities in 2008.
Founded in 1878, Stockholm University initially offered only natural science courses. 1904, the degree awarding system was established, and in the following 20 years, the School of Law and Humanities was established. 1960 became a national university and joined the Academy of Social Sciences four years later.
Since then, the number of students has increased dramatically and the school buildings have gradually expanded. It has about 34,000 students, including 65,438+0,800 foreign students.
