There are 20 public universities in Malaysia, which are divided into research-oriented (5 universities), professional (1 1 university) and compound (4 universities). There are 482 private universities, including 4 1 university, 28 university colleges, 405 colleges and 8 foreign university branches. The qualification of colleges and universities to recruit international students needs to be approved by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of the Interior of Malaysia. At present, in addition to 20 public universities, there are 239 private colleges and universities with this qualification. Most Malaysian universities teach in English. Some private universities and colleges have set up dual courses in line with international standards, and introduced higher education courses from Britain, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other countries. After graduation, students can obtain undergraduate and above diplomas issued by universities in these countries, which are recognized by most countries in the world.
