Jiangdu People's Hospital is the largest comprehensive hospital in the whole region, which was founded in 1950. Its predecessor was Du Jiang Qian Zhi Corps Department Clinic and Jiangdu County People's Government Clinic. After several generations' efforts, it has developed into a national second-class first-class hospital and a national "baby-friendly hospital" with beautiful environment, advanced facilities, complete departments and strong technical force, integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research, prevention, health care and first aid. It is a teaching hospital for medical colleges such as Southeast University Medical College, Jiangsu University Medical College and Yangzhou University Medical College. It is also the designated unit of medical insurance and new rural cooperative medical care in the whole region.
