Huaqiao University is a "double-class" construction university in Fujian Province, a key construction university in Fujian Province and a high-level university in Fujian Province. It is the second institution of higher learning in Fujian Province with the right of graduate school and the evaluation of professors and associate professors.

The school is headquartered in Quanzhou, Fujian, with two campuses in Quanzhou and Xiamen, Nanyang College in Singapore, overseas Chinese education base in Barcelona, Confucius Institutes in Bangkok, Phuket and Vienna, and 77 offices or enrollment institutions on five continents.

There are 2,555 full-time undergraduates1person and 5,953 graduate students, including 4,969 overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students from more than 50 countries and regions, making it one of the universities with the largest number of overseas students in China. By the end of 2020 10, there will be more than 2,800 faculty members. Among 1700 full-time teachers, 54% have senior professional titles, 65% have doctoral degrees, 35% have overseas study experience, and 68% are young and middle-aged teachers under 45.
