It's from Sichuan. There are two campuses, one in Nanchong, Sichuan and the other in Chengdu. Students of Southwest Petroleum University usually study in Nanchong for two years, and then transfer to Chengdu for further study (that is, in their junior year)!

Chongqing also has a school specializing in petroleum-Chongqing Institute of Science and Technology (formerly known as Chongqing Petroleum Institute).

The campus is on Youshi Road in Daping, and the freshmen are in Chongqing University Town.
