What is mental health?
Different scholars have different analysis and understanding of this problem. Generally speaking, most scholars believe that in modern society, a mentally healthy person usually shows normal cognitive function, appropriate emotional response, sound will quality, correct self-awareness, complete personality structure, harmonious interpersonal relationship, positive attitude towards life, good social adaptation, standardized behavior and age-appropriate behavior.
From the perspective of development, mental health is a lifelong topic, and it presents a strong stage. That is to say, the same person's psychological development may be healthy or unhealthy at different stages of life development because of his different adaptation to the development tasks at that stage. For example, when they also enter adolescence, some children adapt well, spend it smoothly, and enter the next stage of life development healthily and happily; But some children can't adapt well, or join bad gangs, or show some bad behaviors and face psychological crisis. However, if an adolescent student facing psychological crisis gets timely and effective attention and help, it is possible to get rid of psychological crisis and embark on the road of mental health development in the subsequent development. This stage of mental health shows that mental health has strong plasticity and it is completely feasible to carry out mental health education.
Quality education in the new period refers to the education based on the development needs of society and people, following the laws of education and teaching, facing all students and taking the overall improvement of students' quality as the core. It includes moral quality education, intellectual quality education, physical quality education, psychological quality education and labor quality education. Among them, the cultivation of psychological quality has become an indispensable link in the process of quality education. I wonder if you have paid attention to all kinds of reports in the newspaper about a student who committed suicide because of pressure, poisoned himself because of revenge and killed his relatives because of dissatisfaction? Why is there such abnormal behavior? There are many answers, but the most fundamental point is that our students do not have healthy psychological quality.
How to strengthen students' mental health education? Specifically, we can start from the following five aspects.
(A) mental health education for freshmen. Including helping students improve their self-care ability; Learn to treat yourself and others equally; Correctly understand and evaluate yourself; Correct professional thinking and master correct learning methods. Strengthen humanized service when welcoming new students, and timely solve the inner confusion, anxiety, fear, loneliness, depression and inadaptability of new students, especially poor students and students with physical defects. Strengthening the psychological education of freshmen's adaptation to college entrance can help students adjust their emotions and actively adapt to the university lifestyle.
(2) Mental health education for college students. Including cultivating good class style and study style; Guide students to establish correct learning goals; Master effective learning methods and so on. Guidance for students' learning can be divided into two types: group learning guidance and individual learning guidance. Group learning guidance can be carried out through discussions, class meetings, special lectures and other forms. Individual learning guidance is more flexible, and can be guided by people, things, times and places.
(3) Psychological health education of college students' interpersonal communication. Including cultivating students' communication awareness and skills; Overcome the cognitive obstacles in communication; Seek some concrete methods to solve interpersonal problems and use group counseling to cultivate college students to establish good interpersonal relationships. Practice shows that this kind of training is an effective way to promote students' self-development, learn and master various communication skills and deal with communication conflicts.
(D) College students love mental health education. Including a healthy view of love; Learn to get along with the opposite sex; Correct ideas and attitudes towards love, marriage and family. This kind of education should combine the characteristics of college students' love, and educate students to master knowledge scientifically through special lectures and other forms; Through psychological and physical health courses, students are educated to correctly handle love setbacks.
(5) Psychological health education for college students in job hunting. At present, the employment of college students is a serious social problem. Subjectively, there is confusion and anxiety caused by the contradiction between career choice ideal and personal ability; Inferiority caused by fierce competition and self-distrust; Jealousy, suspicion, etc of a competitor. This kind of education includes helping students understand themselves and the employment situation; Help students develop a sound concept of job hunting; Help students master job hunting skills in the form of lectures and simulated job hunting; Help students establish self-confidence in job hunting; Correctly handle the setbacks in choosing a job. Strengthening psychological counseling for graduates in job hunting can help them adjust their job hunting mentality, choose jobs that suit them, and prevent students from falling into the psychological cycle of "signing-breaking-signing".
People's psychology is very complicated and sensitive. To carry out students' mental health education in student work requires the two-way interaction between "teachers and students" and "students". As far as students are concerned, once there are symptoms such as depression and anxiety in their hearts, they should take the initiative to talk to their intimate friends or teachers in time, and never keep it in their hearts. Students who are withdrawn and introverted should take part in cultural and sports activities, expand their circle of friends and listen to the suggestions of friends and teachers. As far as teachers are concerned, they should strengthen communication with students, be good at analyzing and grasping the possible crises of students in emotional stability, nervousness, excitement and anxiety, and promptly ease the common psychological crises of paranoia, compulsion, conceit, paranoia, anxiety, indifference, narrowness and arrogance among students, so as to relieve and release their psychological pressure.
