The National Open University (hereinafter referred to as the "National Open University") is a new type of institutions of higher learning directly under the Ministry of Education, supported by modern information technology, with both academic continuing education and non-academic continuing education, and implements distance open education. The National Open University was established on the basis of Central Radio and TV University. Its network covers all urban and rural areas and is open to all members of society. It is a new university without walls and currently has 3.59 million registered students. The establishment of the National Open University marks that the radio and TV university system has embarked on a new journey at a new historical starting point.
