He devoted himself to the study of philosophy, the history of China's economic thought and higher education for a long time. He has presided over a number of provincial key projects, such as the National Educational Science Planning Project (the Tenth Five-Year Plan of the Ministry of Education), "Research on the Environment, System and Countermeasures for the Development of Higher Education in China after China's Entry into WTO" and the National Teaching Research Center Project "University Spirit and Teaching Reform", and won many national and provincial awards. Over the years, he has taught more than ten courses for undergraduates, master students and doctoral students, such as the history of western philosophy, the special study of western political thought, the principles of Marxist philosophy, leadership and the history of China's economic thought, and directed more than ten graduate students majoring in political science, Chinese economic history and Chinese economic history. He has published more than 20 monographs, including History of Western Atheism, Outline of Western Philosophy, Historical Inevitability and Time Coordinates, Research on the Trend of Democratic Socialism, Selected Works of Western Political Thinkers, Icehouse Collection, etc., and co-authored or edited Dianjiao, Outline of China's History of Agriculture, Industry and Commerce, Knowledge Collection, University Justice and University Practice, etc. Since Wu Song became the president of Yunnan University, he has published a series of influential views on educational ideas, higher education management and university teaching reform, and achieved remarkable results in the practice of running a school.
