This department is mainly responsible for the teaching and management of "Information Management and Information System", aiming at cultivating compound talents who are engaged in computer information technology in the field of economic management, meet the requirements of the times and have the potential for sustainable development. At the same time, our department also undertakes the basic courses of computer application in the whole school, which has played a positive role in popularizing computer knowledge and mastering computer management knowledge for students majoring in finance and economics. Our department keeps up with the development trend of international information technology, constantly updates the teaching content, imparts the latest information technology knowledge and skills to students, and trains a large number of information management professionals for the country. Training more than 1,000 undergraduate graduates and 0,000 graduate students. In the process of talent training, we pay attention to the combination of theory and practice. The trained students have a solid and comprehensive theoretical foundation and have certain practical ability and problem-solving ability, so they have always been welcomed by employers. In recent years, the employment rate of students has remained at 100%.
In the past five years, teachers in our department have published monographs, teaching materials and books 15, such as experimental instruction/report on computer application in economic management, database principle and application (second edition), management information system and information system resource management. Two excellent courses, Database Design and System Analysis and Design, have been completed. Won two first prizes of Shanghai teaching achievement and two second prizes of Shanghai teaching achievement 1 item; Five teachers were awarded the titles of "model of teaching and educating people" and "good teachers in students' minds". In terms of scientific research, teachers in our department strive to expand their scientific research ideas, publish many influential papers in international academic journals and domestic core academic journals, undertake national and provincial-level projects, and recently undertake relatively large horizontal projects. The Department of Electronic Commerce was established in 2005, and its predecessor was the Department of Economic Information Management. E-commerce specialty is one of the experimental units of e-commerce undergraduate education officially approved by the Ministry of Education, and it is also one of the earliest schools in China to carry out e-commerce specialty education. The Department of E-commerce has 12 teachers, and the teaching staff is young and capable, with more than 80% teachers with doctoral degrees and doctoral supervisors 1 person.
The Department of E-commerce always takes discipline construction as the leader, personnel training as the center, academic research as the focus, characteristic construction as the promotion of development, and constantly concise discipline direction. Instead of seeking perfection, we should strive for perfection, explore the research direction in combination with the specific application background, and form a research direction with distinctive financial characteristics on the basis of optimizing the discipline structure.
At present, the main research directions of e-commerce department are: e-commerce process reform, e-government, supply chain and logistics management, enterprise ERP system, e-commerce security management, e-commerce audit, e-commerce management strategy and so on.
The Department of Electronic Commerce actively participates in scientific research, has completed or is studying a number of national and local research topics, and publishes papers in important journals at home and abroad for dozens of days every year. A series of high-quality e-commerce textbooks have been compiled.
The Department of Electronic Commerce attaches great importance to the construction of experimental environment. There are already ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) laboratories and e-commerce laboratories, which are an important part of the Economic and Management Experimental Teaching Center of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics and have been rated as national experimental teaching demonstration centers by the Ministry of Education.
The Ministry of Electronic Commerce has strengthened its integration with society and cooperated with state organs, foreign exchange trading centers, IBM, UFIDA, Golden Disc and AMT to carry out scientific research and personnel training.
The department of e-commerce has undergraduate, master and doctoral students. After graduation, students can be competent to engage in business decision-making, e-commerce, operation management, public relations and marketing planning, financial management, commercial law, etc. in industrial and commercial enterprises, foreign-invested enterprises, multinational companies, overseas business institutions and various enterprise groups, and can also engage in scientific research in e-commerce related fields. This major trains high-level e-commerce professionals with both ability and political integrity.
Students majoring in e-commerce should master the basic theories and knowledge of information technology system, economy and management, and e-commerce. In 2002, the superior department of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics put forward an application for adding computer science and technology specialty, which was officially approved by the relevant state departments. In the same year, the Computer Science and Technology Department was established in the former Department of Economic Information Management. In 2005, the former Department of Economic Information Management was changed to the School of Information Management and Engineering, and the Computer Science and Technology Teaching and Research Section was changed to the Department of Computer Science and Technology.

Teacher Zhao was awarded the title of "My Good Teacher" in the first, third and fourth sessions of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Teacher Huang was awarded the title of "My Good Teacher" in the fifth session of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics.
