In 2005, the Mainland Students' Federation was officially renamed the Chinese mainland Students' Federation, and the emblem of the Chinese knot was confirmed. During the second board meeting, CMSA organized a series of activities to serve members, so that members can get more benefits in Hong Kong and feel the warmth of home. On April 24th, 2006, CMSA was officially registered in the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Student Union, and its full name was changed to "Chinese mainland Student Union of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University Student Union".

After entering 2007, CMSA initiated a series of seminars. It is worth mentioning that Bao jiaozi Workshop not only attracted many members, but also many foreign exchange students showed great interest in Bao jiaozi. Therefore, CMSA held two workshops in Jiaozhou, which promoted the cultural exchange between mainland students and foreign exchange students. CMSA devotes itself to many sports activities and actively participates in inter-school sports exchanges.
From 2007 10 to April 2008, CMSA football team won the first place in the 2007 continental football league. In the same period, CMSA basketball team also participated in inter-school competitions for many times, and achieved the top four results in inter-school competitions.
In February 2008, the first Chinese mainland Culture Week was successfully held in the dormitory of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. The activity, jointly organized by HMS and CMSA, mainly includes two wonderful contents, namely "Chinese Style Photography Exhibition" and "China Mainland Cultural Night", aiming at showing the cultural characteristics of different regions in the Mainland to Hong Kong students and overseas students and strengthening cultural exchanges between different regions. In the same period, CMSA held the first e-sports competition, which not only enriched members' after-school life, but also provided a platform for members to display their game skills, which was welcomed by members. During the term of the sixth Director-General's Meeting, both the CMSA football team and the basketball team won the championship of the joint school competition.
