Occupational health and engineering is a science that studies the distribution of diseases and health status in the population and its influencing factors, and formulates and evaluates strategies and measures to prevent, control and eliminate diseases and promote health. Its principles and methods are not only used to study diseases and health problems, but also used to study some physiological, psychological, pathological and clinical pharmacological group phenomena in health management, health education and health service. All the achievements of global public health, such as the discovery and application of vaccines, the control of infectious diseases, the causes and prevention of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, and the acquisition of family planning, are directly or indirectly related to occupational health and engineering research. Therefore, occupational health and engineering are not only the backbone disciplines of preventive medicine, but also the basic disciplines of modern medicine in recent years.
With the development of medical disciplines, occupational health and engineering have merged with other disciplines, and many new branches have emerged, such as genome epidemiology and molecular epidemiology, which intersect with genomics and molecular biology at the micro level. Macroscopically, it intersects with ecology and sociology, forming ecological epidemiology and social behavior epidemiology. In these sub-disciplines, the development of clinical epidemiology using occupational health and engineering methods to solve clinical problems is remarkable, and a large number of clinical research results have been accumulated. With the advent of the information age, the requirement of how to apply these research results to medical practice and decision-making has promoted the rise and development of evidence-based medicine and set off a revolution in the medical field.
After entering the 2 1 century, occupational health and engineering will develop in a broader and deeper field of vision by using various modern civilization technologies, and will surely become a subject worthy of attention in the medical field in the 2 1 century through its own development.
Learning this course will enable medical students to master basic medical knowledge and clinical knowledge, and at the same time establish a group view, a social medical view and an ecological view, a comparative view, a multi-cause view and a probability view; Mastering the research methods of occupational health and engineering can be used for diagnosis, curative effect judgment, treatment scheme selection and prognosis evaluation, formulating countermeasures and measures for disease prevention and control, describing the distribution characteristics of diseases and health conditions, discussing the causes and factors affecting the epidemic, and determining prevention methods in future work.
