Misunderstanding1:The education level of IUT is equivalent to that of junior college in China.
The education systems of China and France are different. The IUT education in France cannot be simply equated with the junior college or higher vocational education in China in terms of enrollment conditions and students' future after graduation.
From the comparison of enrollment conditions, China's junior colleges and higher vocational colleges are universities that recruit students with relatively low scores in the college entrance examination and are not admitted to undergraduate universities. In France, students with a BAC certificate can enroll in general comprehensive universities and IUT. On the contrary, qualified students need to go through interviews or screening application materials before entering, and the entrance threshold is stricter.
Compared with the way out after graduation, the proportion of Chinese college students who can continue their undergraduate studies after graduation is very small, and most of them can only find a way out for the workplace, so employment is not optimistic. French students with DUT (University Diploma in Science and Engineering) can directly find jobs (the prospects are far better than those of domestic university graduates), but there are still many development options:
1. Continue to study in IUT for one year and get a vocational license, and then enter a comprehensive university to continue studying for a vocational master's degree;
Second, can those with excellent grades be admitted to elite education in France? Big school? For example, an engineering university or an advanced business school can get an engineer diploma after three years of study (equivalent to a master's degree, but more valuable than a master's degree);
Three, enter a comprehensive university to continue the third year of study, you can get a bachelor's degree from an ordinary university. Then you can continue to study for master's degree and doctor's degree;
Fourth, entering the University Vocational College (IUP), the master's degree obtained is favored by enterprises and the job market, and the employment rate is higher than that of graduates from comprehensive public universities;
In view of the above, we cannot simply equate the French IUT diploma with the China diploma. It should be said that students who participate in the IUT education system have more favorable choices from employment to further studies.
Myth 2: IUT teaching does not pay attention to theory.
The teaching of IUT pays attention to practice, but we can't think that it doesn't pay attention to theoretical teaching. IUT*** has nearly 30 majors, all of which have broad employment prospects or high-tech majors.
DUT teaching for two years lasts for 60 weeks, with *** 1800 class hours, and the course arrangement is very tight. Moreover, the teaching of IUT has always been known for its rigor, and it attaches great importance to the combination of practice and theory. For example, what is the teaching department of IUT? Centralized teaching? Large classes like China account for 30% of the whole teaching, mainly theoretical teaching; 30%? Instruct practical classes? Small class teaching for more than twenty people; 6- 14 group? Experimental class? Accounting for 40%. In addition, all IUT students must complete at least ten weeks of internship before graduation. At the same time, in order to ensure the quality of students, IUT has a lot of classroom exercises and exams. All these are beyond the reach of ordinary undergraduate education in France, and it also ensures that the rate of students who graduate from IUT eventually get undergraduate diplomas is higher than that of students who receive general education in universities. Moreover, because the curriculum is close to the educational concept, excellent IUT graduates have the opportunity to enter elite schools such as higher business schools and engineering schools. This is extremely difficult for students who receive general education in universities. According to ADIUT's statistics, 30% of students enter elite schools every year.
Myth 3: IUT recruits students who can't go to college in China.
There is no college entrance examination system similar to that in China. Any high school student can apply to enter the university as long as he has taken the high school graduation examination. On the other hand, French business schools or engineering schools, this kind? Elite school? But the entrance examination is extremely demanding. IUT is just between the two. Although there is usually no entrance examination, there will be interviews or material review. Not all applicants can enter IUT, and the elimination rate of some popular majors is also high.
In China, IUT either passed a test? All students must meet the requirements of the college entrance examination (two lines) if the IUT alliance organizes enrollment, or if the IUT enrolls students alone.
