The ranking of graduate students in agricultural universities is China Agricultural University, Huazhong Agricultural University, Nanjing Agricultural University, Northwest A&F University and South China Agricultural University.

China Agricultural University ranks 29th in China and first among agricultural universities. Although its comprehensive strength is relatively low in 985 universities, its subject level is high. The number of A+ disciplines in China Agricultural University ranks among the top ten in China, including "985 Project" and "2 1 1 Project". China Agricultural University is the origin of modern agricultural higher education in China. Its predecessor is Shi Jing University, which was established in 1905. 1960 is listed as one of the 64 key universities in the State Council.

Although Huazhong Agricultural University is not 985, it has been ranked in the forefront of agricultural universities, second only to China Agricultural University, and the University of Soft Science ranks 42nd in the latest, second only to Huazhong University of Science and Technology and Wuhan University in Hubei universities.
