Brief introduction of Tsinghua University Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics
On May 8, 2004, Tsinghua University University of Aeronautics and Astronautics was formally established. In aerospace, the college pays attention to establishing long-term and good cooperative relations with famous aerospace colleges and research institutes at home and abroad. Before the establishment of the College, Tsinghua University signed an agreement on scientific research cooperation and personnel training with China No.1 Airlines in 2003. In the same year, the United States General Electric (GE) Engine Company established the Joint Research Center for Jet Propulsion in Tsinghua University. In 2005, the Tsinghua University-Shenyang Aircraft Design and Research Institute Joint Research Center was established. At present, the Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics is composed of the Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering, the Department of Engineering Mechanics and the Aviation Technology Research Center. It maintains interdisciplinary characteristics and belongs to the Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. The Department of Aerospace Engineering consists of five research institutes: Engineering Dynamics Institute, Aircraft Design Institute, Propulsion and Power Technology Institute, Man-machine and Environmental Engineering Institute and Aerospace Information Technology Institute. The Department of Engineering Mechanics consists of four research institutes: Institute of Solid Mechanics, Institute of Fluid Mechanics, Institute of Engineering Thermophysics and Institute of Biomechanics and Medical Engineering. 1
