The emergence of core literacy is mainly based on cultivating students' comprehensive literacy, so that they can adapt to the future social development, make students have a sense of responsibility, practice and innovation spirit, and have a profound humanistic heritage, and finally cultivate high-quality talents with healthy, upward and all-round development.

Research on core literacy is an important reading of core literacy research. The research of core literacy includes five parts: the connotation of core literacy, curriculum design based on core literacy, curriculum standard formulation based on core literacy, core literacy from an international perspective and core literacy from a critical perspective.
