History of School of Politics and Administration, South China Normal University
The School of Politics and Administration of South China Normal University was renamed from the School of Politics and Law in June, 5438+October, 2005. Its predecessor was the Political and Educational Office established at the beginning of the school. In the development history of South China Normal University, with the teachers of the Department of Political Education as the backbone, the Marxism-Leninism Teaching and Research Section and the Institute of Philosophy have been established successively. 1989 The Department of Political Education was renamed the Department of Political Science and Law. In 2000, the Department of Political Science and Law, the Department of Ideological Education, the School of Philosophy Management and the Teaching and Research Section of Moral Education merged to form the School of Political Science and Law. In 2004, the Institute of Philosophy and Management of the School of Political Science and Law was merged into the newly established School of Management, and the law major was independently set up as the School of Law, which was renamed the School of Politics and Administration.
