Shandong University (Weihai) was founded in 1984, located in the beautiful coastal city of Weihai. It is a multidisciplinary, open and comprehensive national key university campus jointly established by Shandong University and Weihai Municipal People's Government, and it is one of the longest university campuses in the world. The birth of this school created a precedent for famous schools in China to run schools in different places. Students in our school will receive a diploma issued by Shandong University after completing their studies. At the same time, more than 1 1% of fresh graduates are recommended to the national "2 1 1 project" and "985 project" universities and national scientific research institutes for postgraduate study.

As of February, 2023, the school covers an area of 1.6 million mu, with 1.7 million books in Chinese and foreign languages and more than 200 electronic literature databases in Chinese and foreign languages. At present, there are 12 colleges and 1 teaching departments, covering eight disciplines, including arts, law, economics, management, science, engineering and medicine.
