The words "Jiangnan University Gymnasium" in the building were inscribed by Mr. He, former president of the Chinese Olympic Committee and now a member of the International Olympic Committee.

The total construction area of the gymnasium is10.5 million square meters, and the infield is 54 meters long and 39 meters wide, which can accommodate 4085 spectators.
