Giant Buddha of Confucius Institute in Korea
On June 19, 2007, Hanban signed a formal agreement with the Giant Buddha University in Korea to jointly build the Confucius Institute at the Giant Buddha University.

Located in Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do, South Korea, Giant Buddha University was founded in 1994 and is the largest university in southwest Korea. It has 8 departments and 2 graduate programs, with more than 4,000 students and about 10% foreign students.

Confucius Institute provides various Chinese classes and cultural activities for primary and secondary school students and the public, such as cultural lectures, martial arts experience classes and trips to China. At the same time, Chinese character schools and calligraphy are set up for the elderly over 65 years old, and training courses in the fields of international trade, administration and law are set up for government agencies and enterprise personnel. It develops teaching materials, multimedia courseware and distance education projects with Qingdao University.

Authorized by Hanban, Qingdao University, as the specific executing agency, cooperated with Giant Buddha University to build the Confucius Institute.
