Zhejiang International Studies University belongs to two universities. Zhejiang international studies university, located in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, is the only public full-time foreign language college in Zhejiang Province, which is organized by the people's government of Zhejiang Province and based on foreign languages and literature.

Its predecessor was Zhejiang Teachers' Training School, which was established in 1955. In July, 1956, it was transformed into Zhejiang Normal University; 1960 changed its name to Zhejiang Institute of Education in March; On April 20 10, it was upgraded and renamed as Zhejiang International Studies University.
