Jiangxi Vocational College of Foreign Studies is the only public vocational college of foreign studies in Jiangxi Province, which is approved by the people's government of Jiangxi Province and affiliated to the Department of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation of Jiangxi Province. Formerly known as Jiangxi Foreign Economic and Trade School, the College was founded in 1964. With the assistance of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Jiangxi International Economic and Trade Talents Training Center was set up to train middle and senior foreign language and foreign trade talents for South China, and cooperated with Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade, university of international business and economics and other universities to run schools. The college is located in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, and now covers an area of 690 mu. It is divided into three campuses: Yaohu, Gaoxin and Shuang Gang. It has teaching and living facilities such as teaching building, comprehensive training building, network office building, student apartment building, staff dormitory building, library audio-visual hall, indoor and outdoor sports ground. Equipped with academic lecture hall, international trade simulation laboratory, e-commerce simulation laboratory, computer accounting simulation laboratory, voice laboratory, multimedia classroom, TV broadcasting hall, microcomputer room and so on. There are more than 20 majors in international business, e-commerce, business English, business Japanese, business German, international economic and trade legal services (the research direction of WTO), logistics management, enterprise management, computer information management, accounting computerization, international finance, international marketing, public relations secretarial, accounting, hotel and tourism management. The college mainly recruits high school graduates and junior high school graduates. Junior high school graduates with a three-year academic system receive a technical secondary school diploma and have a five-year direct college diploma. High school graduates have a three-year academic system and receive a college diploma after graduation. There are more than 7,300 students and more than 260 faculty members, including full-time teachers 166, all of whom have undergraduate or graduate degrees, and 46 have senior titles. The school has sent more than 80 teachers to study abroad. At present, it has hired 10 teachers from the United States, Britain, Australia, Japan and other countries to teach foreign language courses, and hired professors, experts and scholars from well-known domestic universities, as well as general managers and business backbones of foreign trade import and export companies as visiting professors to enrich the practical teaching of the college. Over the past 40 years, the college has trained a large number of foreign language and foreign trade talents for the country, and many graduates have become the backbone of the foreign trade industry; Some grow up to be factory directors, managers and private entrepreneurs; Some go abroad for further study and become accomplished experts and scholars; Some people have held leading positions in the party and government departments.
