Later, he was promoted many times, from lecturer of National History Museum, lecturer of Secretariat of History and bachelor of National History Museum, until he was awarded the bachelor of Secretariat of History in the eleventh year of Shunzhi. In the 12th year of Shunzhi, Fu Yijian wrote a letter on current politics and played a policy of encouraging the people. The performance was in line with the national conditions and the wishes of the monarch, so he was added as Prince Taibao and became the teacher of Emperor Kangxi who succeeded him later. He was reappointed as a Bachelor of National History College.

Fu Yijian served as the examiner of the examination in the four years of Shunzhi, and served as the examiner of the court examination for many times. He bluntly suggested abolishing the ban and reforming the examination system.

Fu Yijian is knowledgeable, good at guessing and rigorous in his studies. He uses the wall as paper, burns incense at night, reads books and reads widely. He was appointed as the editor of Ming History and Records of Taizong, wrote Preface to Senior Officials, wrote Neize to develop its significance, reviewed Fuquanshu and revised Yijing.

He is the author of Poems of Zhen Gu Zhai.
