The National SouthWest Associated University is one of the famous comprehensive universities in the history of China. Founded in 1937, it was formed by the merger of Sichuan University, Guizhou University and Yunnan University. 1946, The National SouthWest Associated University was abolished and changed to independent Sichuan University, Guizhou University and Yunnan University. From 65438 to 0994, Sichuan Normal University, Chongqing Normal University and Zigong Normal University merged into the new Southwest Normal University. In 2005, the former Southwest Normal University merged with the former Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences to form the present Southwest University.
