Northwest Normal University, located in Lanzhou City, Gansu Province, is a key university jointly established by the Gansu Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Education. Although Northwest Normal University is not a 2 1 1 engineering university, it is one of the 14 universities in the western region supported by the state, an excellent university evaluated by the Ministry of Education, and a national cultural quality education base for college students.

It should be noted that "2 1 1 project" has been planned as a "double-first-class" construction, and Northwest Normal University has also been selected as the second round of "double-first-class" construction universities and disciplines.
