The SQA program of the Central University of Finance and Economics was introduced by the China Service Center for Studying Abroad (Ministry of Education), with the Central University of Finance and Economics as the main school and the School of Foreign Languages responsible for the daily teaching management of students. During their study in China, the project students are registered in the Overseas Study Service Center of China (Ministry of Education) and the project management system of the Scottish Academic Management Committee.

In 20 17, the SQA-AD higher education diploma project was written into the joint statement of the fifth meeting of the Sino-British Advanced Foreign Language Exchange Mechanism, which greatly affirmed the contribution made by the project in the educational exchange and cooperation between China and Britain and laid a solid foundation for the development of the project.

It is the first new higher financial institution founded by the Central People's Government after the founding of New China.
