With the end of the college entrance examination, many colleges and universities have entered a period of preparing for enrollment. In 20 18, the number of college graduates nationwide reached 8.2 million. Starting with 1998, the number of graduates has increased more than eight times in the past 20 years.
The continuous expansion of enrollment in colleges and universities has led to an explosive increase in the number of students. But at the same time, the overall quality of students has been declining, and even many university professors use their functional advantages to run enterprises. Many university majors exist in name only, but they continue to recruit students.
Speaking of this, let me introduce a concept: education GDP. What is education gdp? It originates from the enrollment rate and employment rate, and it is a measure of the educational situation of an educational institution in a certain period.
Gdp is an important indicator to examine the level of economic development in a region. Since the marketization of education, this indicator has gradually penetrated into the school field. For the sake of indicators, the school pursues the enrollment rate and employment rate unilaterally, introduces a large number of new students, relaxes the entrance threshold, and constantly opens new majors. From the initial knowledge and technology leading the future to the cultivation of talents determined by today's market, many so-called popular and unpopular professional concepts were born.
It is necessary to increase the size of the school, because it improves the types of majors and the size of the number of students. Although China's investment in education accounts for about 5% of gdp, some local governments actually only invest about half. Some schools even stopped state subsidies for students. Except for some famous schools and key universities, most local schools have little subsidies. So I can only borrow money.
School loans are no longer news. In addition to corruption within the school, all kinds of infrastructure, land, buildings, equipment, logistics, teachers and so on need to spend money. Complete building facilities are also a standard for school strength assessment. All kinds of book buildings, gyms and swimming pools have sprung up, but most of the time they are idle and rarely used.
For example, ten years ago, Jilin University had a debt of 3 billion, and other universities with debts of hundreds of millions abound. With what? Financial subsidies, student fees, schools, businesses and enterprises?
Enrollment expansion, enrollment expansion, just like chickens lay eggs, eggs lay chickens, no one can do without others. If a university wants to develop, it must do so, so as to improve the gdp of education and let the school pass the qualification examination and rise to a higher level.
I hope that one day, schools can develop rationally and students can apply what they have learned. Improve the quality of education, make rational use of resources and improve the overall quality.
