Hubei Institute of Technology (Hubei? Science and engineering? University), located in Huangshi City, Hubei Province, is a provincial full-time comprehensive undergraduate college with work as the center, work-study combination and coordinated development of engineering, science, economics, management, medicine, literature, teaching and art, which was approved by the Ministry of Education and was selected as the leading institution in "Hubei 201KLOC-0/Plan".

The history of Hubei Institute of Technology can be traced back to Huangshi Industrial School, which was founded in 1975. After that, it experienced the development stages of Huangshi advanced engineering class, advanced medical class, normal college class, Wuhan University of Technology (now Wuhan University of Technology) Huangshi Branch, Huangshi University and Huangshi College.
