Nanjing University of Chemical Technology is the earliest university of chemical technology in China. Nanjing University of Chemical Technology has the same roots as Nanjing University and other universities, and its origins can be traced back to the Industrialization Department of Jinling University, which was established in 10 (192 1), and the Department of Chemical Engineering of National Fourth Sun Yat-sen University, which was established in 16 (1927).

It only took Nanjing University of Chemical Technology six years to get this ID. 200 1 merged with Nanjing Institute of Architecture and Engineering to form Nanjing University of Technology. The authoritative statement is that Nanjing University of Chemical Technology was renamed Nanjing University of Technology in February of that year.

Then it merged with Nanjing Institute of Civil Engineering and Architecture in May of the same year. In February of that year, the Ministry of Education agreed to the notice that Nanjing University of Chemical Technology was renamed Nanjing Institute of Technology. As a result, Nanjing University of Chemical Technology was changed to Nanjing Institute of Technology and merged with Nanjing Institute of Architecture and Engineering. This issue is not explained in detail in the historical evolution of official website, only that they became Nanjing University of Technology in 200 1.
